Our client:
●One of the largest telecommunication operators in the world. They are sourcing for Assistant Operations Manager to join their Data Centre team based in Singapore.
Main Responsibilities:
●Plan, Manage and Oversee the day-to-day operation (Facility Management & IDC operation) and manage a team of engineers and to be on standby with 24/7 on-call emergency response and availability
●Plan, Manage and Maintain MEP infrastructure, and coordinating with vendors
●Manage and plan for MEP preventive, corrective and predictive maintenance
●Manage and plan for annual shutdown
●Prepare monthly reports e.g. energy report, asset report
●Manage contractors and projects
●Provide effective solutions of management of annual budget projection.
●Monitor service delivery performance against targets and customer service indicators
●Develop and implement process improvement to maximize service delivery and minimize costs
●Recognize business needs and find areas for growth at the client by assisting service delivery with identifying new services to offer to the client
●Ensure documentation standards and processes are well maintained
●Build and maintain high team leader morale, and positively cascades Corporate and Departmental communications
●Ensure training is provided as required to adapt and improve skill sets for changes in work profiles
●Identify areas of risk around delivery and mitigate those in timely manner
●Support sales team in technical pre-sales solutions across sites/regions and provide assistance in deliverables as necessary through sales cycle.
●Identify customer’s business needs, challenges, and technical requirements and derive data center and related solutions
●Provides technical solution design expertise to sales representatives
●Maintain and strengthen our interdepartmental relationships with regional design and construction teams, facility management teams, customer operations teams and other internal teams
●Provides support for various ranges of customers, including global deployments solution design and deliverables
Demonstrates an understanding on data center, network, and cloud products and services
●Customer-facing skills and ability to talk with experienced users intelligently about data center or similar solutions
●Independently respond to multi-site/regional RFI/P/Q as requested by sales representative, collecting and consolidating information for the larger team to use in responding
●Communicates with customers (internal and external) in a professional, friendly and effective manner, both verbally and in writing
●Provides above technical support in sales presentations, customer meetings, and trade shows business and market expertise
Required:
●At least a Bachelor Degree in Electrical Engineering/Mechanical Engineering/Building Services or related
●At least 6 years of data center facilities and operation experience
●Operational experience with critical facility equipment/ system that includes but not limited to transformers, generators, DRUPS, UPS, PDU, Chiller System ,CRAH and Fire System
●Operational experience with structured cabling system, cross connect etc.
●Knowledge of servers, switches, network infrastructure
●Excellent professional written and verbal communication skills
Effectively bilingual to liaise with Chinese and English speaking users and stakholders
●Excellent organizational and time-management skills
Ability to coordinate multiple, dissimilar activities simultaneously
●Ability to develop and maintain good working relationships with clients and internal work groups
●Flexibility to work extended work schedules as required
